He said some states have asked all their universities to start four-year UG programmes, but this is also becoming the new normal in universities across the country.

Kumar, who was the chief guest at the event, said that Maharashtra is leading in effective implementation of NEP in many aspects and is also at the forefront in creating cluster universities. Kumar said this in the convocation ceremony.
University Grants Commission Chairman M. Jagadish Kumar said Maharashtra state is making efforts to effectively implement the National Education Policy, and universities in the state are also at the forefront of creating small-scale 'cluster universities'.
This year more than 1.51 lakh students graduated from the university and were awarded degrees. About 53% of these students were girls. Except for two years of the pandemic, the number of female students graduating from university has always been higher than that of boys. Twenty-four medals were awarded to 21 students who excelled in various examinations, 12 of whom were women.
State Governor Ramesh Bais, who presided over the event, said the university should be ranked among the top 10 universities in the next 10 years. Bass also noted that more girls graduating from university is a positive sign.
Guests at the convocation and University Vice-Chancellor Ravindra Kulkarni expressed pride at the award of Bharat Ratna to MU alumnus senior BJP leader Lal Krishna Advani.
