“Action Is Not Legal”: Pakistani Mystery Spinner’s Bizarre Action Stuns Internet. Watch

Quetta Gladiators' mystery spinner Usman Tariq recently grabbed all the headlines during his team's Pakistan Super League (PSL) match against Karachi Kings. Tariq, an enigmatic spinner, struck twice in an over, leaving the batsmen, fans and even Gladiators guru Sir Vivian Richards in disbelief. Tariq, who used to pause in his action before bowling the ball, dismissed Tim Seifert and James Vince with the first and last balls of the seventh over of Karachi's innings. Tariq got both Seifert and Vince LBW with his bizarre action, which fans on social media considered illegal.

Here's how the Internet reacted:

Former Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq opened up on Tariq's action, saying that his accuracy makes him a difficult bowler to play, especially for right-handed batsmen.

Misbah said, “He (Takir) has the carrom ball and above all, he is accurate. The spin is so subtle that it is enough to beat the bat. It is difficult for right-handed batsmen to face him.” A game.

“If you play him like an off-spinner where the ball comes back, that's what we've tried and seen, but all batsmen make the same mistake when we think he's bowling the carrom ball. We play him in- Try to play the line, we plant our foot to play but that subtle turn will get you LBW or bowled. When you are facing your first or second ball as a batsman in your innings, Even if you choose it you will make a mistake in some way or the other,” he said. Explained further.

Speaking on Tariq's challenges, Misbah suggested: “There are international players in the PSL who have played many world-class spinners which will be a challenge for him and they will also do a video analysis on that.”
