Diljit Dosanjh is currently enjoying the success of his latest film amar singh bright, Last week, Amar Singh Chamkila's first wife Gurmail Kaur made a rare appearance at the Mumbai screening of the Imtiaz Ali-directed film amar singh bright, Gurmel along with Chamkila and Amarjot's son Jaiman attended the special event and also gave a warm hug to Diljit Dosanjh. ICYDK, the film is based on the life of late Punjabi singer Amar Singh Chamkila. The film has received immense love and appreciation from audiences and critics, especially for the impressive performances of the cast.

Diljit Dosanjh has shared a heart touching video on his Instagram handle. The video shows Gurmel warmly welcoming the actor-singer on the red carpet. After talking to Daljeet, Gurmail hugged him. While sharing the video, Diljit wrote, “Chamkila Premiere.” Watch the video here.

In an earlier interview with Cine Punjabi, Amar Singh Chamkila's son Jaiman had talked about the complex family dynamics. He said he is still in touch with his father's first wife Gurmel and his half-sisters. He said, “I am in touch with Chamkila's first family. I have two sisters from his first wife, Amandeep and Kamaldeep. The elder one is married and has two children and Kamal is getting married this year.” [2023], when i visit her [Gurmail], She welcomes me nicely but that's all. It has been like this since the beginning. “It is neither his fault nor our (children’s) fault.”

Jaiman, who grew up with his maternal grandparents, also talked about his parents' tragic death and Gurmail Kaur's thoughts on the tragedy. He said, “Sometimes we talk and she says that if you had a father, we would not have been in this situation. He worked very hard, people's evil eyes affected him; he had a lot of enemies. I too They are sisters.” Well, we try to share our pain as much as we can.”

For those unaware, Amar Singh Chamkila and Amarjot Kaur were shot dead by unknown assailants in 1988 when they had come to protest in Mehsampur, Punjab.

Amar Singh Chamkila premiered on 12 April. The film also stars Parineeti Chopra.
