The IPL 2024 campaign has been a disappointing one for Rohit Sharma as the Indian cricket team captain has struggled to score big for Mumbai Indians so far. The experienced batsman has managed to score 349 runs in 13 matches at an average of over 29 and a strike rate of around 145. The lack of form has been quite detrimental for Mumbai Indians, who have won just 4 of their 13 matches and were also the first team to be eliminated from the race for the IPL 2024 playoffs. With the T20 World Cup approaching, it has become a matter of great concern for the fans of the Indian cricket team, but former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly is not worried about it.

Recently, when Ganguly was asked about Rohit's form at an event, he said that he believes that the experienced batsman is well aware of the big occasions and he will have no problem in performing for the national team.

“India is a very good team. Rohit will play well in the World Cup. He plays well in big tournaments. He will be fine on the big stage,” Ganguly said at the launch of Praveen Amre's book in the capital on Tuesday.

Rohit lost his captaincy at Mumbai Indians to Hardik Pandya ahead of the IPL 2024 season and there have been reports of a possible rift between the two stars of the Indian cricket team.

Pakistan's great fast bowler Wasim Akram even made a bold prediction about Rohit's future.

“I think he will not be in Mumbai Indians next season. I would love to see him in KKR. Imagine him opening there, with Gauthi as a mentor, Iyer as a captain. He has a very strong batting Will happen.” That wicket (Eden Gardens). He bats very well on any wicket, he is a very good player, but it will be good to see him in KKR,” Wasim Akram told Sportskeeda.
