Pune: Bajaj Auto developing one portfolio Of clean fuel Bajaj Auto Managing Director said CNG motorcycles and the first such bike will hit the market in June Rajeev Bajaj Said here on Friday. The bike will run on CNG and hit the roads in June, he said while announcing Bajaj Group's commitment to spend Rs 5,000 crore over the next five years for corporate social responsibility.
The new bike will target mileage-conscious consumers and is expected to be launched under a separate brand. It is expected that CNG bikes will be priced higher than their petrol counterparts due to the higher cost of manufacturing in addition to a special tank to offer petrol and CNG fuel options to provide convenience to customers. Bajaj also said that its Pulsar – which was launched 20 years ago – will soon reach two million units.
Meanwhile, a commitment of Rs 5,000 crore over five years for social impact initiatives focuses on skill development under 'Bajaj Beyond' – the group's new identity for all its CSR and charitable programmes.
This will benefit more than two crore youth and enable them to take advantage of the employment and entrepreneurship opportunities offered by India's growing economy. “Social responsibility is deeply embedded in the Bajaj family of businesses and its philanthropic efforts. Over the last 10 years, the Bajaj Group has contributed approximately Rs 4,000 crore towards CSR initiatives, primarily across skills and education, health, livelihoods , focused on water conservation and many other areas of development,” said Neeraj Bajaj, President, Bajaj Auto.
