Delhi Capitals have suffered a major blow as their Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh has returned home to undergo treatment for an injury to his right hamstring. According to ESPN Cricinfo, Marsh, who is set to captain Australia for the T20 World Cup in June, was recalled after consultation with the Delhi team management. However, a final decision is yet to be taken on his availability for the remainder of the season. Marsh last played against Kolkata Knight Riders on April 3 and has missed his last two matches against Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants.

Marsh's highest score this season has been only 23 runs against Rajasthan Royals, which DC won by 12 runs. He was out for a duck in the 106-run defeat against KKR.

Marsh has been performing brilliantly across all formats for the Kangaroos, earning him the Allan Border Medal for the most outstanding male Australian cricketer of the year.

Since January 2023, the 32-year-old has scored 1,954 international runs in 38 matches at an average of 50.10, including three centuries, besides taking 10 wickets.

Apart from Marsh, DC is also concerned about the availability of experienced Australian opener David Warner for Wednesday's match against Gujarat Titans.

Warner injured his finger while attempting a catch against LSG on Friday.

His finger was reportedly swollen and was scanned when the team reached Ahmedabad.
