While the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 remains a nightmare for most bowlers, batsmen have enjoyed unprecedented success in the tournament so far. A total of nine 200+ totals have been seen so far in this IPL, with teams now showing signs of recession. Commentator Harsha Bhogle suggested a change in the ball maker after seeing the batsmen thrashing the bowlers in most of the matches. Now, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) mentor Gautam Gambhir has also reiterated his point and suggested that another manufacturer could be used to replace the existing Kookaburra balls.

Gambhir said in his first episode of 180, “If a manufacturer cannot produce a ball that lasts for 50 overs, he can also change the manufacturer. There is nothing wrong in changing the manufacturer. Only Kookaburra is used. What is this compulsion to do?” not out.

Earlier, Harsha Bhogle had said, “I would reiterate this. We need more balance between bat and ball and in situations where the pitches are not helping, the ball has to be in the air more.” How about a ball.” With more pronounced seams, which allows more lateral movement and ensures that batsmen cannot cross the line at will. It's good to hear experts' opinions on this.”

This season, Sunrisers Hyderabad have already scored 'record' IPL team scores on two occasions. After scoring 277 runs against Mumbai Indians, he broke his own record and scored 287 runs on the board against Royal Challengers Bangalore.

On Tuesday, Rajasthan Royals registered another record of successful chase in IPL by chasing the target of 224 runs against Kolkata Knight Riders. It would be fair to say that the equation between bat and ball has tilted in favor of the batsmen.
