upsc geoscientist prelims, Union Public Service Commission has released the admit card for Combined Geo Scientist Preliminary Examination 2024 on its official website- upsconline.nic.in. Candidates who have registered themselves for the preliminary examination round can find the admit card link on the official website of UPSC to download their respective admit cards.
The recruitment round aims to fill a total of 56 posts upsc geologistgeophysicists, chemists and scientists (hydrogeology, chemical and geophysics). The age limit was limited to minimum 21 years and maximum 32 years. The preliminary exam is scheduled to be held on February 18, 2024 for which the admit cards have now been made available.

step 1: Visit the official website of UPSC exams upsconline.nic.in
step 2: On the homepage, find the link mentioned “e-Admit Card for Various Exams of UPSC” and click on it. You will be redirected to a new page.
step 3: Check Exam Name'joint geoscientist (Preliminary) Examination, 2024' and click on 'Download' e-Admit Card link.
step 4: On the new page, read the important instructions and click “Yes” at the bottom of the page.
Step 5: Choose the option to use your registration or roll number to log in to the portal.
Step 6: Enter your credentials like roll number or registration number, select your date of birth and submit.
Step 7: Once the e-admit card is loaded, check the correctness of all the details and download it. Have a print version ready for exam day.

Important guidelines issued by UPSC for Combined Geo Scientist exam
UPSC released the exam guidelines for the candidates appearing in the preliminary round. Furthermore, candidates should follow the following to have a stress-free exam experience:

  • Check the e-Admit Card carefully and if there is any discrepancy, bring it to the notice of the Commission immediately.
  • Bring this e-Admit Card (printout) along with (original) photo identity card, the number of which is mentioned in the e-Admit Card, in each session to secure entry into the examination hall. Candidates must keep the e-admit card safe till the final result is declared.
  • A candidate who does not bring his/her e-admit card for checking at the allotted venue will not be allowed to enter the examination venue.
  • Candidates are not allowed to enter the examination premises with any valuable/expensive items, mobile phones, smart/digital watches, other IT gadgets, books, bags etc. Candidates are advised not to bring prohibited items as the venue invigilator will not make any arrangements for the same. Keep these items at the venue
  • Entry of candidates will be closed at the venue 30 minutes before the commencement of the examination (in each session). No candidate will be allowed to enter the examination venue after the closure of entry.
  • Candidates should note that they will not be allowed to appear at any venue other than the venue mentioned in their e-admit card.
  • Possession/use of mobile phones (even in switched-off mode) and other electronics/communication devices or any other objectionable material (notes on e-admit card, papers, erasers etc.) or violation of any instructions disciplinary will take action which may include canceling the candidature of the candidate, filing FIR/Police complaint against the candidate or debarring him from appearing in the next session of the examination.
  • Candidates who do not have a clear photograph on the e-Admit Card will have to bring two passport size photographs (one for each session) which will have to be pasted on the affidavit given at the examination venue.
  • Candidates should note that any omission/mistake/discrepancy in filling/encoding the details in the OMR answer sheet, especially with respect to Roll Number, Test Booklet Series Code, will lead to rejection of the answer sheet.
  • There will be penalty (negative marking) for wrong answers marked by the candidate in objective type question papers.
  • Candidates are also advised to bring a black ballpoint pen to the examination hall/room for taking the examination. Answers other than those given in black ballpoint pen will not be evaluated.
