According to regulatory filings, 77-year-old Narayana Murthy recently transferred 15 lakh shares, equivalent to 0.04% stake in Infosys, to his grandson in an off-market transaction. As a result of this gift, Murthy's ownership in the IT company reduced to 0.36%.
Based on the current trading price of Rs 1,620 per share on the Bombay Stock Exchange, Ekagraha's holdings amount to Rs 243 crore, an ET report said.
Ekagra, born on November 10 in Bengaluru to Rohan Murthy and Aparna Krishnan, is Ekagra's third grandson. Sudha Murthy And Narayana Murthy. Sudha Murthy has recently taken oath as Rajya Sabha MP.
Rohan Murthy, Ph.D. with. in computer science from Harvard University, heads Boston-based software firm Soroko, while his wife Aparna Murthy heads media.
Specifically, Ekagraha's daughters Krishna and Anushka are included. Akshata Murthy and British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, grandson of the Murthys.
In terms of ownership of Infosys, Akshata holds 1.05% stake, Sudha holds 0.93% and Rohan holds 1.64% as of the end of December quarter.
Murthy founded Infosys in 1981 with six other co-founders. All co-founders, except Ashok Arora, who left the company in 1989, have since become billionaires.
