‘Dead Poets Society’, ‘The Truman Show’ director, Peter Weir confirms his retirement from filmmaking

Legendary filmmaker Peter Weir has officially confirmed his retirement from the world of cinema. Famous for directing such classics as the Truman Show And dead Poets SocietyWeir left an unforgettable mark on the cinescape.

Despite fans' hopes for a return, especially regarding the potential master and Commander As for the sequel, the 79-year-old Australian director has made it clear that he will not be returning to the director's chair.

“I'm retired,” Weir said when asked about his 14-year hiatus from filmmaking, making the announcement at the Festival de la Cinémathèque in Paris. “Why did I stop cinema? Because, simply put, I have no energy anymore.”
