Drone company Ideaforge will enter new segment

New Delhi: Indian Freelancer Chief IdeaForge going to enter now”logistics by developing on a large scale unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) that can carry payload 100 km Weight up to 100 kg. “This could potentially be a foot in the door of developing urban air mobility solutions,” says Ankit Mehta, the company's co-founder and CEO.
The company has recently set up a subsidiary in the US and is showcasing its products to end customers there. Mehta said, “None of our critical subsystems come from the geography of concern (read China) and this puts us in a unique position. We have licensed stock and sales to our subsidiary there. But are used for monitoring and mapping.” ,
“We are very vertically integrated in technology. We get (some) subsystems from geographies that are not a concern. The ability to ship from here has become real. There is a very clear restriction on specific Chinese OEMs in North America , Also they also have restrictions on components coming from specific countries in the world. We are also looking at some other markets,'' he said.
Western geographies are moving away from China in key areas due to a number of risks regarding cybersecurity. The US banned Chinese-made UAVs in 2020 due to safety concerns. Many other countries including India also share this. The rapidly growing drone ecosystem in India in the last two-three years has made indigenous UAVs acceptable in all such geographies.
“Our drones are being used extensively in India for ownership planning, which involves giving ownership rights to landholders in all villages,” Mehta said.
