Final Fantasy VII Rebirth was given an in-depth look at PlayStation's latest State of Play showcase, where publisher Square Enix announced that a demo for the game will be made available on PS5 on Wednesday. The playable demo, which is currently available to download on the PlayStation Store, will allow players to take control of both protagonist Cloud Strife and antagonist Sephiroth in the early part of the game. Along with the announcement, Square Enix also debuted 11-minute long gameplay footage from the upcoming action RPG, showing off the world map, methods of traversal, minigames, and more.

Are included. Gameplay also includes a wide variety of quests and minigames, including a deckbuilding card game called Queen's Blood. The footage also featured detailed visuals and facial animations that aid in fleshing out the game's story. Rebirth will be available to play in both performance mode, which prioritizes framerate, and graphics mode, which prioritizes 4K resolution.
According to Square Enix, the Final Fantasy VII Rebirth demo will feature a flashback section centered around the Nibelheim event, placing players in the shoes of Sephiroth. This event takes place years before the events of the game, providing additional context about the story and characters.
Additionally, the studio said it plans to release an update between now and the game's release later this month that adds the Junoon area to the demo, allowing players to freely explore the area. Permission is granted.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, the second game in the remake trilogy of the original games, will tell the story of Cloud and his friends on the trail of Sephiroth. A demo of the game is available now on the PlayStation Store, with the full game releasing on PS5 on February 29th.
