Founder of EV maker VinFast launches global charging stations venture


Hanoi: Founder of Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer Vinfast launched a on Monday EV charging station company, v greenabout which he said he would give priority to support winfast Vehicles globally.
V-Green, which billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong holds 90% stake, will serve as global partnerare leading the construction of extensive charging networkhe said in a statement.
“V-Green will directly seek land and partners to establish and expand its charging network in VinFast’s key markets,” Vuong said.
VinFast, which Vuong founded in 2017 and debuted on Nasdaq last year, has said it will expand to at least 50 countries in 2024.
In Vietnam, V-Green will be responsible for the operation and management of VinFast's existing charging network and will consider expanding charging services to other EV manufacturers after five years of operation.
He said it would spend about $404 million over the next two years on new outlets and charging network upgrades.
Last year, Vuong founded a EV Taxi OperatorGreen SM, which accounted for 72% of Vinfast's 2023 sales.
