Mumbai Indians' decision to change the captaincy of the franchise by replacing Rohit Sharma with Hardik Pandya became one of the most talked about topics on social media. When MI coach Mark Boucher explained the 'cricket reasons' behind the change in leadership in a podcast, Ritika Sajdeh commented, “There are a lot of things wrong with it.” As the cracks in the Mumbai Indians family become more visible, former India cricketer Aakash Chopra is worried about Hardik Pandya, wondering if the all-rounder will be able to enable the players to work as a team.
Rohit remains one of the most successful captains in the history of IPL, having led the franchise to 5 titles. But, suddenly, he was replaced as captain by Hardik, who came to the team as part of a high-profile trade from Gujarat Titans.
Aakash Chopra warned in a video on his YouTube channel that he doubts whether the MI family can continue to work as a team after Ritika's comments made it clear that everything in the franchise not right.
“I was listening to an interview with Boucher where he explained why he changed captaincy. He tried to explain cricketing reasons, but Ritika (Rohit's wife) commented below that, and it was clear it went viral. Will go because he said – Chopra said on his YouTube channel, 'There are a lot of things wrong with it.'
“We don't know what is right and what is wrong. I am a little worried because Mumbai Indians have a great team on paper, but the biggest pressure on Hardik Pandya will be whether he can put all five fingers together and make a fist or not. Can take the whole team in one direction,” he said.

Hardik is currently at the training ground and is working to get himself fully fit before the start of the IPL 2024 season.
The newly appointed MI captain has led Gujarat Titans to two consecutive IPL finals, winning one of them. So MI owners have big expectations from them.
