New Delhi: In view of Babar Azam Former Pakistan captain re-appointed white ball captain shahid afridi made a scathing attack on pakistan cricket board ,pcb) for his shocking move before the upcoming t20 world cup,
Babar left his role as captain in all formats in November following Pakistan's early exit from the 50-over World Cup in India. Coincidentally, Babar takes over the captaincy Shaheen Shah AfridiWho is Afridi's son-in-law. This decision was taken by the newly reconstituted seven-member selection committee, which was formed just a week ago.
Taking to social media platform 'X', Afridi expressed his displeasure at the decision and wondered whether it was even necessary for the wicketkeeper-batsman. Mohammad Rizwan Should have been the best option.
“I am surprised by the decision of the very experienced cricketers in the selection committee. I still believe that if a change was necessary then Rizwan was the best choice! But now that the decision has been made I give my full support and best wishes to Team Pakistan .And Babar Azam,” Afridi posted on 'X'.

After Babar stepped down, Shan Masood was made the Test captain and Shaheen took over the leadership in T20Is. Shaheen's tenure as T20I captain saw Pakistan face a challenging series in New Zealand, where they lost 1–4.
Before the World Cup in the United States and West Indies, Pakistan will play five T20 matches against New Zealand at home, followed by two T20 matches in Ireland and four in England.
During his tenure as captain since 2019, Babar has led Pakistan to 42 wins out of 71 T20Is, with 23 losses and six matches ending with no result. However, he faced criticism for allegedly favoring friends in team selection.
