Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) fast bowler Mayank Yadav has impressed everyone with his fast pace in the current season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). He bowled the ball at a speed of 156.7 kilometers per hour during the game, the fastest ball in the current edition and the fourth fastest overall in the history of the entire tournament. In two matches so far, Mayank has taken six wickets, helping LSG win consecutive games after losing their opening match. After just two matches, several current and former cricketers have backed the 21-year-old to play for India in the coming months, including former England captain Michael Vaughan.

Vaughan said it would be great for Mayank and India if the fast bowler is allowed to play the county season.

“It would be good for Mayank Yadav and Indian cricket if they allow him to play for the county this summer,” Vaughan posted on Twitter.

During the match against RCB, Mayank returned remarkable figures of 3/14, earning him his second consecutive Player of the Match award.

“It feels great to win two POTM awards, but I am happy that we won both matches. My goal is to play as much as possible for India. So I think this is just the beginning and my main goal is to focus on that.” But, Mayank said in the post-match presentation.

Mayank has established a reputation for consistently crossing the 150 kmph mark. The 151 km/h delivery stunned Maxwell, sending him running fast on his pull, ousting a top edge and forcing him back to the dressing room for a two-ball duck and the contest. Got the 16th chance overall.

Delhi Teaser became the sixth bowler to take three wickets in two consecutive matches in the IPL.

Talking about the match, LSG were put to bat and managed to post an impressive score of 181/5 after Quinton de Kock's inning of 81 runs in 56 balls.

In reply, RCB struggled to build meaningful partnerships which led to their collapse as the hosts lost by 28 runs.
