Karnataka captain Mayank Agarwal, who was recently admitted to hospital after drinking suspicious liquid on the plane, has now recovered and will lead his team against Tamil Nadu in their next Ranji Trophy Group C match in Chennai from Friday. Will return to do. The 32-year-old batsman had consumed liquid on his team's flight to Surat after the match against Tripura last month. He had to be admitted to hospital for treatment of burns to his mouth and throat. Aggarwal lodged an FIR alleging irregularities. As a result he missed Karnataka's last clash against Railways.
However, doctors here cleared him of any major health problems, paving the way for his return to the team.
Emerging batsman Nikin Jos led Karnataka against Railways in Agarwal's absence and the former champions sealed a one-wicket win in Surat with the help of an unbeaten half-century from veteran Manish Pandey.
Currently, Tamil Nadu leads Group C with 21 points, same as Karnataka. But TN leads the chart due to its better net run rate of 2.06.
Agarwal's return will provide a boost to his batting as the Karnataka opener has so far scored 310 runs in four matches at an average of 44 with two centuries and one half-century.
Karnataka has got further strength in batting as in-form Devdutt Padikkal will also be available for this match.
