International Day of Families 2024: How to create strong bonds with your family


The family we are born into plays a huge role in shaping us into who we are– they are a part of our identity, and a source of our strength and our weakness. So to honour and celebrate the huge contributions one’s family plays in shaping them who they grow up to be, every year the International Day of Families is celebrated on the May 15th. “The Day was proclaimed by the UN General Assembly in 1993…and reflects the importance the international community attaches to families,” reads a statement on Wikipedia.
This year, marks the 30th anniversary of the International Day of Families. The theme for International Day of Families 2024 is ‘Families and Climate Change’. It “aims to raise awareness of how climate change impacts families and the role families can play in climate action. Through family and community initiatives, we can foster climate action with education, access to information, training and community participation,” reads a statement on the United Nations official website.
