The franchise is also reportedly considering making Pat Cummins the captain for the upcoming season starting on March 22.
Steyn had requested for a break from his coaching responsibilities and the franchise is currently looking for a replacement bowling coach.
Apart from playing 93 Tests, 125 ODIs and 47 T20 matches in his illustrious international career, Steyn also played for Deccan Chargers, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL.
In 2022, Steyn joined the SRH franchise in the role of a bowling coach and was credited with playing a big role in the development of fast bowler Umran Malik, who earned India caps in T20Is and ODIs and was recently named as the fast bowler. Got a chance to bowl. Contract with BCCI.
