IPL 2024: KKR star Phil Salt names ‘fastest’ bowler he has faced, and it’s not Jasprit Bumrah or Mitchell Starc | Cricket News


New Delhi: Kolkata Knight Riders have been exceptional throughout the league stage of the current IPL season and their explosive opener Phil Salt Is optimistic that the team will maintain its form and give its best performance in the upcoming playoffs. KKR are currently on top with 9 points, having won nine from 13 matches and suffered only three losses.
“It's about taking it day by day and hopefully we play our best and get the momentum at the right time,” Salt commented on KKR's Knights Dugout podcast.

Salt has played a vital role in KKR's successful campaign by forming destructive partnerships with fellow opener Sunil NarineConstantly targeting the opposition bowlers.

Mitchell StarcKKR's left-arm pacer, expressed the team's determination to regain the trophy it has won twice before. “I'm excited to be here at KKR and hopefully it's a really successful season for us. We're here to get trophies and that's our target and hopefully we're going to do exactly that. ” Stark said.
The Australian fast bowler also discussed his return to the IPL after a decade-long absence. “It's been a long time since I've been here. I was supposed to come here with KKR in 2018, but I got injured. So it's exciting to be back and looking forward to it.”
Salt also shared his experience of being selected in the England team for the first time. “That was my first experience of having my phone flooded with messages. I'm not usually someone who uses phones a lot but it was an incredible experience. My phone was blowing up with messages congratulating me And it was very good.”

He told a story about facing jofra archer In the net. “I think Jofra is the fastest player I have faced in the nets and that too from 18 yards. He bowls at that pace from 18 yards with three bouncers an over. It's good because it helps sharpen the reflexes, but there have been times when he hits me right before a match day and then it's all over,” Salt revealed.
KKR are scheduled to face second-placed Rajasthan Royals in Guwahati on May 19, the final day of the league stage.
