Yami Gautam on shooting for Article 370 during pregnancy: 'It was challenging, mentally very tiring'

Yami Gautam is currently busy promoting her upcoming film. Article 370, During the trailer launch, she and her husband, filmmaker Aditya Dhar, confirmed the news of her pregnancy and she admitted that shooting during that time was mentally tiring for her.

She also shared that she shot action sequences during the first few months of pregnancy, and considered her husband, Aditya and his team as her strongest supporters.

She said, “It was challenging. It was also mentally exhausting. I could write a thesis on it. There are so many questions, the first one is always challenging. Let's say you ask me about motherhood and everything that comes with it.” In that situation, I really don't know what I would have done if Aditya, Lokesh bhaiya (Dhar) (brother-in-law) and everyone else were not with me…”

The film required him to perform several action sequences for which he had to undergo extensive preparation. Yami told that it was not difficult because till the time she found out that she was pregnant, all she had to do was dubbing. Elaborating further, he said,

Yami further added, “There was rigorous training involved for the film. You have to be alert and careful and I am grateful to all the doctors who were secretly monitoring it. But luckily, I only had a talkie to shoot. There were only parts left. So we could manage. But it felt unrealistic because the child was also a part of it. Some of the inspiration also came from how I saw my mother working. We Indian women are more likely than we give ourselves credit for. are much stronger than that.”

Dhar also expressed his excitement and shared, “It was an amazing time because the way the film came together and the way we got to know the child honestly, it almost felt like… that Abhimanyu story came to mind.” (This reminded me of Abhimanyu's story). The child knows exactly how 370 was removed… We will know whether it will be Lakshmi or Ganesh…''

The couple, who got married in 2021, announced the pregnancy news at the trailer launch of their film 'Article 370'.

While talking to the media, Aditya said, “Our baby is about to arrive.” Yami is reportedly five and a half months pregnant. They are scheduled to be delivered in May 2024.

He made a spectacular appearance in the 'Article 370' program. Yami and Aditya got married in a private ceremony in Himachal Pradesh on June 4, 2021. The two previously worked together in the 2019 war-action drama 'Uri: The Surgical Strike'.

Talking about the film 'Article 370', it is directed by National Award winner Aditya Suhas Jambhale. It is set to deliver a deeply narrative, cutting-edge experience with some powerhouse performances. The film is directed by Yami Gautam and Priyamani.

Giving information about 'Article 370', Yami Gautam first said, Article 370 This is a bold chapter in the history of India. A political-action-drama inspired by true events, it will give an insightful portrayal of how intelligence and politics work hand in hand to take some of the most crucial decisions that change the direction of a nation. I hope the audience enjoys this genre-defining film. Personally, as an actor, this film allowed me to delve into new depths of complexities and once again gave me a role that was never considered before.”
