Jasprit Bumrah Takes Stunning One-Handed Catch During Practice. Rohit Sharma’s Reaction Goes Viral – Watch

During the practice session of Mumbai Indians, Jasprit Bumrah took a brilliant catch with one hand, seeing which Rohit Sharma was completely surprised. In a video posted by the franchise on social media ahead of the IPL 2024 match against Gujarat Titans, both the cricketers can be seen practicing catching. Bumrah took two simple catches before completing an impressive one-handed effort, which was a perfect example of quick reflexes. Rohit, who was standing right behind the fast bowler, was impressed by the effort and couldn't stop himself from praising his teammate before starting the practice.

Hardik Pandya will aim to carry forward the rich legacy of his predecessor Rohit Sharma when he begins his Mumbai Indians captaincy with the match against Gujarat Titans, a team that the star all-rounder himself has captained in the last two seasons in the IPL Was.

Such is the professional nature of the IPL that Pandya, who led the Titans to titles and runners-up finishes in the last two seasons, moved back to Mumbai Indians where he made a name for himself.

The tournament also marks Pandya's return from the 'bizarre' ankle injury he suffered midway through the ODI World Cup in October.

The injury-hit all-rounder's form with both bat and ball will be closely monitored in the tournament ahead of the T20 World Cup in the United States and the Caribbean. With Pandya moving to the other side, the Titans will be led by Shubman Gill, who will take over the responsibility with very little captaincy experience.

Mumbai is grappling with the fitness issues of its key players, including star batsman Suryakumar Yadav, who is yet to receive fitness clearance from the NCA.

Left-arm fast bowlers Jason Behrendorff and Dilshan Madushanka have already been ruled out of the IPL, while new signing Gerald Coetzee, nursing a groin injury, may not be available for the first few matches.

After leading Mumbai to five IPL titles, India captain Rohit will be in form as a player this season and is expected to be in top form ahead of the ICC event in June.

Another player whose performance will be scrutinized is Ishan Kishan, who will have a point to prove after losing his BCCI central contract for disobeying the board's orders on domestic cricket.

The southpaw, who missed the entire Test series against England, preferred to train on his own for the IPL and did not feature for his state team Jharkhand in the Ranji Trophy. The battle for the wicketkeeper-batsman's spot in the World Cup squad will be intense and Kishan will have to be on top of his game in the next two months.

Apart from Pandya, Mohammad Nabi and Romario Shepherd are the other quality all-round options Mumbai have.

Domestic players like Akash Madhwal and Nehal Wadhera will be looking to build on their performances from last season.

On the Titans front, Gill has been tasked with ensuring that the team maintains the remarkable consistency it has shown in its first two seasons. Gill can be one of India's future leaders but for that to happen he will have to prove himself on the IPL stage.

He was the leading run-scorer last season and the franchise will be hoping that captaincy does not affect his batting.

The Titans will definitely be without the services of Mohammed Shami, who recently underwent surgery to repair his Achilles tendon and will be back only in the second half of the year.
