Landslide buried a Philippines village on Tuesday, toll now 54

Manila: The the death toll from a giant landslide that affected the gold mine Village in the south philippines Officials said on Sunday that the death toll had risen to 54 and 63 people were still missing.
A landslide hit the mountainous village of Masara in Davao de Oro province on Tuesday night, following weeks of torrential rains. The provincial government of Davao de Oro said in a Facebook post that 54 bodies had been recovered. At least 32 residents survived but 63 are missing. The missing included gold miners who were waiting in two buses to go home when a landslide struck and buried them. Search operations are being hampered due to bad weather and the possibility of more landslides.
