LSG, RR Combine To Troll Avesh Khan After ‘Finisher Act’ In IPL 2024 Match vs KKR

Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Tuesday made fun of fast bowler Avesh Khan's batting in the IPL 2024 match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Avesh did not face a single ball and remained unbeaten on zero, while Jos Buttler single-handedly won the match. Playing for RR. Chasing 224 runs to win at the Eden Gardens, Rajasthan were looking in trouble at 121-6 in the 13th over. However, Buttler scored an unbeaten 107 off just 60 balls to help RR achieve the target on the last ball. He scored all the runs during an unbeaten ninth-wicket partnership with Avesh, who was a mere spectator at the other end.

While the cricket world was busy praising Buttler's match-winning innings, RR decided to have some fun with Avesh and dubbed him a “finisher”.

Avesh's former franchise, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) also joined RR in trolling the fast bowler, and reminded fans about his scoreless cameo during the IPL 2024 game against RCB last year.

Meanwhile, RR achieved the joint-highest chase chase in IPL history by defeating KKR on Tuesday.

The Sanju Samson-led side emulated their own record from IPL 2020 when they chased 224 against Punjab Kings (then Kings XI Punjab) in Sharjah.

Buttler missed the last game due to injury and played only as an impact sub against KKR.

However, the England white-ball captain was unperturbed and scored his second century of the season in 55 balls.

“Have faith, that's the real key today. I was struggling a bit for rhythm. Sometimes you feel frustrated or you're questioning yourself. I tell myself 'It's okay, keep going. 'You will regain your composure and try to remain calm.' ,” Butler said after the match.

Buttler is now second in the all-time list of IPL centuries, with RCB icon Virat Kohli (8) just one century ahead of him.
