“Not True…”: AB De Villiers’ Stunning U-Turn After Virat Kohli, Anushka Sharma Expecting ‘2nd Child’ Comment

Feb 9, 2024

Amid doubts over Virat Kohli's return to the team for the remaining matches of the Test series against England, former South Africa captain AB de Villiers had dropped a bomb, claiming that the star batsman and his wife Anushka Sharma are expecting their second child. Are expecting. Kohli had withdrawn from the Indian team for the first two Test matches against England citing personal reasons. It is still not known whether Kohli will take part in the remaining matches of the series or not. De Villiers was asked on his YouTube Live whether he had spoken to Virat Kohli and whether he was okay or not.

“All I know is that he's fine. He's spending some time with his family, which is why he's not playing the first two Test matches. I'm not going to confirm anything else. Can't wait to see him back. He's fine, he's happy,” AB de Villiers revealed on his YouTube channel.

He added, “Let me just see what he said. I just want to give you at least a little bit of love.”

“So I wrote to her 'Been wanting to meet you for a while Biscuit. How are you?'. She said, 'Right now I need to be with my family.' Then I said I am doing well.

“Yes, their second child is on the way. Yes, it's family time and things are important to them. If you're not true and true to yourself, you lose sight of what you're here for. I think most people's priority is family, you can't judge Virat for that. Yes, we miss him, but he has taken the right decision.”

However, De Villiers has now claimed that he made a mistake, saying that the news of Virat and Anushka expecting their second child is not true.

“Family comes first and then cricket. I made a big mistake on my YouTube channel. That information was wrong and not true at all. I think whatever is best for Virat's family comes first. No one knows what's going on out there, that's all I can do.” I wish him good health. Whatever the reason for his break, I hope he comes back stronger, better and fresher,” de Villiers told Dainik Bhaskar.

India has not yet announced its squad for the third Test starting on February 15 in Rajkot. Reports have emerged that Kohli may miss the third and fourth Tests.
