Pakistan: Jailed former PM Imran Khan gets bail in military installations attack cases

New Delhi: Former Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan Was awarded Bail In 12 cases related to the May 9 attacks on military installations.
anti terrorism court (ATC) approved Khan's bail after completing a surety bond of Rs 0.1 million.
These cases include attacks on General Headquarters (Pakistan Army) and Army Museum. The court said there was no justification for keeping 71-year-old Khan under arrest as all the accused in the May 9 case were already on bail.
However, Khan will remain in jail due to his conviction in other cases.
This decision of the court has come recently after the victory of independent candidates supported by Khan's party. national assembly elections,
Meanwhile, former foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi was also granted bail in 13 cases related to the same incident.
Khan and Qureshi were convicted in these cases on 6 February. Khan claimed that he was illegally arrested from the Islamabad High Court complex on 9 May.
The cases against Khan were registered in Rawalpindi and included attack on the gate of the General Headquarters (GHQ) and riot in the office of a sensitive institution.
Khan has consistently denied the allegations mentioned in the First Information Report (FIR). Following Qureshi's release from Adiala jail, he was taken into custody by the Punjab Police in the GHQ attack case.
