Pakistan to close ‘Narcotics control ministry office’ to eliminate unnecessary burden on national exchequer

islamabad [Pakistan]March 14 (ANI): Pakistan interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced the closure of Narcotics Control Ministry The integration of the office and its operations into the Minister of the Interior, citing reasons “remove the unnecessary burden on national treasury“, ARY News reported.
Interior Minister Naqvi, who is also the chief of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), announced the plans in a post shared on Twitter.
“It has been decided to close down the Narcotics Control Ministry Office and integrated its functions into the Ministry of the Interior. Streamlining operations, saving resources and eliminating unnecessary burden on the national exchequer,” he said.

According to ARY News report, earlier on Wednesday Mohsin Naqvi visited the Anti-Narcotics Ministry.
During his visit, he announced not to use his office in the Anti-Narcotics Ministry, and said that the office in the Interior Ministry is enough for him as offices in the two ministries are a waste of resources.
According to ARY News, Mohsin Naqvi said that the manpower of the minister's office should be utilized at other required places in the ministry.
Naqvi, Federal Minister for Interior and Anti-Narcotics, was given a special briefing regarding the affairs of the ministry.
He said that drug eradication is the need of the hour to secure the future of future generations and for this purpose the government will use all resources to get rid of the drug menace.
