Pune Man Claims He Found Chicken In Veg Biryani, Zomato Responds

A man in Pune recently took to X (formerly Twitter) to share a complaint about a dish he allegedly ordered from Zomato. In the post, the man claimed that he found a chicken piece in a paneer biryani he ordered from PK Biryani House in Karve Nagar, Pune. He mentioned that he managed to get a refund for the same. However, he stated that the incident hurt his “sentiments” as he is a vegetarian. The post has grabbed many eyeballs online.

Zomato reacted to the claim on X. The brand responded, “Hi Pankaj, our highest priority is to ensure that we never compromise with anyone’s sentiments. Please share your order ID or registered phone number via DM so that we can get this checked.”

Food delivery platforms and airlines are often in the headlines for such instances. In March, Zomato was again called upon to respond when an X post claimed that chicken was delivered in place of a customer’s actual vegetarian order. The delivery platform apologised for the mishap and asked the X user for her registered phone number for them “to investigate this further.” Check out the video here

Other concerns about food quality are also raised frequently. Before this, a post about a woman finding a cockroach in her ramen went viral on X. The dish was ordered from Auntie Fung’s. Part of her caption read, “Absolutely unacceptable and disgusting. Seriously disappointed with the quality control here.” Zomato had taken cognisance of her complaint on the platform.
