Two-time Olympic medalist PV Sindhu and top men's shuttler Kidambi Srikanth will continue their European exploits at the Madrid Spain Masters tournament, starting on Tuesday. Last year's finalist Sindhu, seeded second here, will face Canada's Wen Yu Zhang in the round-of-32 clash, while seventh seed Srikanth will take on a qualifier. Sindhu will be hoping to move on after suffering a defeat to Indonesia's Gregoria Mariska Tunjung in the last edition of the tournament. Srikanth, whose run at the recently concluded Swiss Open Super 300 tournament ended after his semi-final loss to Chinese Taipei's Lin Chun-Yi, will be hoping to make an impact after being knocked out of the race for the Paris Olympics.

Srikanth, who is playing his ninth tournament this season and recently reached the last-four for the first time in 16 months at the Swiss Open, will be joined by Kiran George and Satish Karunakaran in the tournament.

Among other Indians in the field, Ashmita Chaliha will play her opening match against fourth seed and former world champion Ratchanok Intanon of Thailand, while Malvika Bansod will take on Iris Wang of the United States for a place in the last-16.

This year's All England Championship semi-finalist Lakshya Sen has withdrawn from the tournament. The fifth-seeded player was scheduled to face world number 39 Takuma Obayashi of Japan, but he decided not to participate in the event.

Sen reached the quarterfinals of the French Open but was eliminated in the second round of the Swiss Open.

The women's doubles main draw features three Indian pairs, led by fifth seeds Tressa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand. The pair are coming off a disappointing straight-game quarterfinal loss to Australia's Setyana Mapasa and Angela Yu at the Swiss Open.

Third seeds Tanishaa Crasto and Ashwini Ponnappa will also try their luck here after their second round defeat in Basel, while Ashwini Bhatt and Shikha Gautam are the third Indian women's pair here.

In men's doubles, Krishna Prasad Garaga and Sai Prateek will start against fourth seeds Canadians Dong Adam and Yakura Nile, while eighth seeds MR Arjun and Dhruv Kapila will take on Mexican pair Job Castillo and Luis Armando Montoya Navarro.
