Rahul Ruled Out Of 5th Test Against England, Bumrah To Rejoin Team


The BCCI on Thursday announced that India batsman KL Rahul has been ruled out of the fifth and final Test of the five-match series against England in Dharamsala. Rahul is currently recovering from the injury and the BCCI medical team is closely monitoring him and coordinating with experts in London for further management of his problem. The BCCI also revealed that star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, who was earlier released from the squad, will rejoin the squad in Dharamsala for the fifth Test.

“Jasprit Bumrah, who was released from the squad for the 4th Test in Ranchi, will join the squad in Dharamshala for the 5th Test,” the BCCI said in a release.

“Washington Sundar has been released from the team. He will join his Ranji Trophy team – Tamil Nadu – for the Ranji Trophy semi-final match against Mumbai starting from March 2, 2024. He will join India after the completion of the home matches. Will join the team for the fifth Test fixture if required,” it further said.

The BCCI also said that star fast bowler Mohammed Shami, who underwent surgery on Monday, will soon head to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru to begin his rehabilitation process.
