Actor-comedian Kapil Sharma launches his latest comedy show, The Great Indian Kapil Show, on Saturday. The episode featured members of the Kapoor family–Neetu, Ranbir and her sister Riddhima.

During the show he discussed about Ranbir and Alia's marriage. Animal The actor shared a humorous story about the 'shoe stealing' ritual from the ceremony.

As they discussed Ranbir and Alia Bhatt's wedding, Sharma asked about the rumors of Ranbir paying a huge amount during the 'Joota Chupai' ritual. Ranbir denied the rumors saying that he had only given a nominal amount.

Neetu Kapoor said that she offered some cash amount. After this Ranbir told how Alia's sister had initially asked for a good amount of money, but he limited it to a few thousand.

Archana Puran Singh expressed surprise at the nominal amount and said, “In thousands. So little.” To this Ranbir said, “Yes. The wedding took place at home. The shoes will still be at home. Take it if you want.” Later everyone laughed together.

During the conversation, Ranbir also shared anecdotes from his life, including the first and only time he got a slap from his father, late actor Rishi Kapoor. He remembered the Diwali puja at RK Studio when he was around 8 or 9 years old and accidentally wore shoes inside the temple, due to which he was scolded.

Ranbir and Alia tied the knot on April 14, 2022, in an intimate wedding ceremony held at Ranbir's Bandra residence, Vaastu, after dating for five years. The couple welcomed their first child in November of that year.
