Former Indian cricket team spinner Murali Karthik faced a lot of criticism on social media for his on-air comments on Royal Challengers Bangalore fast bowler Yash Dayal during the IPL 2024 match against Punjab Kings on Monday. Dayal hit five sixes in five balls against Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL – an unwanted feat which had a huge impact on the young cricketer. However, he was picked up by RCB for Rs 5 crore in the IPL 2024 season and speaking about the move, Karthik said – “Someone's trash is someone's treasure”. This comment was not taken positively by many social media users.

“How do you say someone's trash is someone's treasure? You have just called Yash Dayal trash on air! Comedian and television host Danish Sait posted on X (formerly Twitter).

Royal Challengers Bangalore took to social media to give a befitting reply to Karthik over his on-air remarks.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli has become the Indian player with the most catches in the men's T20 format and has overtaken Suresh Raina.

Kohli made this record during the clash between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS).

The 35-year-old completed his 174th catch in the T20 format by taking catches of PBKS batsmen Jonny Bairstow and Shikhar Dhawan.

He went ahead of former India cricketer Suresh Raina who has 172 catches to his name. India captain Rohit Sharma is at third place with 167 catches. Indian batsmen Manish Pandey and Suryakumar Yadav are placed fourth and fifth with 146 and 136 catches respectively.

Overall, in international T20 cricket, former West Indies cricketer Kieron Pollard is on top with 362 catches.

South African batsman David Miller is in second place with 290 catches. Former West Indies batsman Dwayne Bravo is at third place with 271 catches in the T20 format.
