Rishabh Pant Sledges England Legend Over Focusing On Social Media – Video Is Viral

Indian cricket team's wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant is known for his sharp replies on the pitch and he recently gave an example of the same during his conversation with Michael Vaughan and Adam Gilchrist. In an episode of the Club Prairie Fire podcast co-hosted by Vaughan and Gilchrist, Pant was asked to slay the former England captain and he gave a hilarious reply. Pant said, “I would say (to Vaughan) that you are paying too much attention to social media.” When Pant was asked about sledging Gilchrist, he simply said – “He is in his field.” Yes, you can't bother people like this. I can't say anything more than that.”

Pant was also asked if he had any advice for the England team to defeat Australia. The India star replied that batsmen need to play more cut shots instead of punching every delivery.

“They already know what they have to do. One simple thing I would say as a batsman is to focus on cutting the ball rather than punching the ball. This is what I would say (to England baseballers). Because when you punch the ball you are more likely to get caught, or simply get out. Australia is the best place for cut and pull. A fuller ball will not bother you much. Mostly it is going to be behind the length. These people bowl fuller balls a little away from the off stump. In England you can punch the ball better.”

Meanwhile, Pant praised young Yashasvi Jaiswal and said that the 22-year-old is someone who lives in the present and does not think about the future.

Jaiswal recently won the ICC Men's Player of the Month award for February 2024, beating New Zealand superstar Kane Williamson and Sri Lankan opener Pathum Nissanka.

The left-handed batsman currently leads the run-scorers in the ICC World Test Championship and has been helped by two impressive double centuries in two consecutive Test matches against England in February.

Speaking on the Club Prairie Fire podcast with Adam Gilchrist and former England captain Michael Vaughan, Pant said the youngsters have done an “amazing” job by stepping up for India.

He said that if Jaiswal continues to perform like this, he will go far.

“Really amazing. The way all the youngsters are stepping up. I think it's really amazing because, you know, over time, some new guys come into the team. Not every time you see them performing. Will see, but when he performs and keeps his head (down)… like not thinking too much… and Jaiswal is someone who likes to keep his head down and just keep doing what he does. And I think if he continues to do that, there's a long way to go,” Pant said on the Club Prairie Fire Podcast.
