RPPL & JK Tyre Host Maiden Showrun Of Indian Racing Festival In Srinagar


Hyderabad-based Akhilesh Reddy-led Racing Promotions Pvt Ltd (RPPL) has partnered with JK Tyre, a pioneer in showcasing diverse motorsport sub-cultures in India, to host the thrilling Indian Racing Festival. This is a historic moment in Indian motor-racing history, as two of the biggest legends of Indian motorsport are coming together to take the sport to new heights. The Indian Racing Festival 2024, which includes the Indian Racing League (IRL), the FIA-backed Indian F4 Championship and the JK Tire FMSCI National Racing Championship (JKNRC), is scheduled to begin later this year. The season will run for five rounds for each class, with over ten races throughout the season.

As part of a market-to-market approach aimed at promoting motorsport, the promoters plan to organize exciting road shows across the country. Marking a grand start to the season, this dynamic promotional show made its first stop in Srinagar overlooking the picturesque Dal Lake in association with Jammu and Kashmir Tourism.

Srinagar, often called 'Paradise on Earth', boasts of unparalleled natural beauty, serene lakes and some rich cultural heritage. Spectators in Srinagar got an early glimpse of what they can expect when the season begins, with RPPL and JK Tire whet their appetites with a display of Wolf GB08 cars and Formula 4 cars driven by young motorsport icon – Sohil Shah Has given. The two champions of IRL 2023, Rishon Rajeev, Formula 4 Vice Champion and Shriya Lohia, Formula 4 India driver. As the engines roared across the 1.6 km long stretch of Dal Lake, crowds of people from all walks of life gathered to watch the high-octane action against the backdrop of majestic mountains and shimmering waters.

The event also showcased JK Tire's legacy as the architect of the domestic racing landscape, giving fans a slice of the action featuring the various categories of motorsport that the company has had a role in creating. This included the mind-blowing drift show of India's drifting champions Sanam Sekhon and Prateek Dalal from Chandigarh who displayed skillful maneuvers in their Lexus and BMW cars, the Superbike daredevils from Coimbatore and Bengaluru who demonstrated the effortless synergy between man and machine and Some adrenaline filled shows were included. Four wheels led by Indian rally veteran Hari Singh. However, the showstoppers were undoubtedly the 10-year-old karting talents from Delhi, Pune, Bengaluru and Chennai who crossed the limits at breakneck speeds of 120 km/h, creating excitement beyond the tarmac.
