Former India spinner Harbhajan Singh expressed his concerns about the Royal Challengers Bangalore bowling unit, which gave up the highest score in the history of the Indian Premier League against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. RCB elected to bat SRH and there was a tsunami of boundaries in the stadium as the Pat Cummins-led side broke its own record and posted the highest score so far in the IPL: 287/3. Each bowler who completed his four-over spell gave away more than 50 runs in a record-breaking night. Reece Topley took one wicket but conceded 68 runs. Yash Dayal gave 51 runs, Lockie Ferguson gave 2 runs for 52 runs and Vijaykumar Vaish also gave 64 runs. Throughout the tournament, RCB's bowling unit lacked firepower, which played a role in their downfall. In seven matches, RCB have tried to defend their target four times and have failed to achieve it even once in the current season.

“RCB's troubles are increasing. There was talk about their bowling line-up after the auction and now they must be realizing it. They have scored the highest score so far in the IPL. I believe that the surface batsmen “But someone needs to raise their level.” Put your hand and say, I will get you two or three wickets,” Harbhajan said on his YouTube channel.

Dinesh Karthik's fighting half-century and explosive powerplay partnership between captain Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli took RCB closer to chasing the elusive target.

While the middle order failed to perform well after the departure of the opening pair, Karthik gave hope to the home fans with his explosive innings of 83 runs in 35 balls.

“The biggest positive in RCB's batting is Dinesh Karthik, he has scored runs in every match,” Harbhajan said.

Talking about the match, after SRH were invited to bat, explosive innings from Travis Head (102) and Heinrich Klaasen (67) took the visitors to 287/3.

In reply, Kohli (42) and du Plessis (62) provided ideal starts to the hosts, but the target became difficult to chase due to the continuous fall of wickets. Dinesh Karthik once again performed brilliantly with the bat with a sensational inning of 83 runs. Yet it was not enough to take his team across the finish line, as RCB lost by 25 runs.

After suffering their sixth defeat of the season, RCB will travel to Eden Gardens to face Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Sunday.
