Spain: Judge orders Telegram to be blocked nationwide

Why was the order issued?

“It's as if they have shut down the Internet because there are websites that illegally host content protected by copyright,” said Ruben Sanchez, secretary general of FACUA.
Telegram is the fourth most used messaging service in Spain, according to competition watchdog CNMC. It was used by about 19% of Spaniards surveyed by the CNMC.
Telegram claims to have 700 million monthly active users all over the world. The company has faced disruptions in many countries, from Brazil to Somalia.
