Stock market today: Sensex, Nifty trade lower in opening session

Wednesday was the worst day for investors since Covid in terms of asset declines. At the end of the session the market cap of BSE was Rs 378.7 lakh crore.
Investors' wealth worth Rs 13.9 lakh crore was wiped out in the form of loss in market capitalization of BSE due to the day's selling.
While Sensex recorded the second-biggest loss in market capitalisation, Adani shares saw the group's biggest single-session asset decline of Rs 1.1 lakh crore.
