Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor launched in India at Rs 7.73 lakh: Variants, features of Fronx-based vehicle


Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) finally launched the Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisar Prices in the Indian market start at Rs 7.73 lakh for the base E variant, going up to Rs 13.03 lakh for the top-end V Automatic variant, both prices ex-showroom, India. Booking has also officially started today and deliveries are also expected to start soon.

Toyota Taser will compete directly with Maruti Suzuki Frontis. It also competes with the likes of Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger and others in the Indian market.

The 1.2-litre NA engine is offered with the E, S and S Plus, with prices starting at Rs 7.73 lakh and going up to Rs 9.52 lakh. Talking about the 1.0-litre engine, it is offered in G and V variants, the price of which starts at Rs 10.55 lakh and goes up to Rs 13.03 lakh (all prices ex-showroom).

In terms of design, the Taisor gets a redesigned front grille with a two-piece chrome strip. It also gets redesigned fog lamp housing and a new bumper. Apart from this, Taisor also has a new design of 16-inch alloy wheels. At the rear, both are almost identical and the only differentiating factor is the badging.
Moving inside, the Taser and Frontex share a similar dashboard layout with the only difference being the badges. The Tasar gets dual-tone burgundy-black interiors with a free-standing 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

The Toyota Tasar shares its entire feature list with the FrontX, with both SUVs getting a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android. autoConnected Car Tech, Automatic Climate Control, OTA updates, Automatic LED Headlamps with DRL, Wireless Charger, Tilt and Telescopic Adjustment for Steering Wheel, 6-Speaker Sound System, Semi-Digital Cluster, Push-Button Start, Rear AC Vents, Cruise control, head-up display, 360-degree camera and more.

Talking about engine and gearbox, Taisor is offered with similar engine options as Fronx. It is powered by a tried and tested 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder, NA petrol engine that produces 90 hp of power and 113 Nm of torque, gearbox options will include a 5-speed manual or AMT. The second engine is a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine that produces 100 hp of power and 147 Nm of torque, gearbox options will include a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic.
