A major controversy broke out during the Under-23 Colonel CK Nayudu Trophy final between Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh. An umpiring decision caught the fans' attention when Karnataka opener Prakhar Chaturvedi was given out caught-behind by the on-field umpire, despite wicketkeeper Aaradhya Yadav clearly grassing the ball. The incident occurred during the morning session of the first day when Chaturvedi tried to hit a four off Shubham Mishra.

However, the ball was sliding down the leg side and Prakhar only managed to take a slight edge.

The UP players made a loud appeal for a catch behind the wicket and the umpire raised his finger while Aaradhya was busy collecting the ball from the field.

A fan on social media pointed out the bizarre incident and questioned the “standard of umpiring” in the domestic circuit.

The fan urged BCCI to investigate the incident and punish the umpire.

Some users also demanded a ban on wicketkeeper Yadav for cheating.

Meanwhile, the final match of Ranji Trophy is being played between Mumbai and Vidarbha at Wankhede Stadium.

Musheer Khan's century took Mumbai to 418 and set a target of 538 against Vidarbha in the Ranji Trophy final.

At tea on the fourth day, Vidarbha's score was 155/4 with Karun Nair and captain Akshay Wadkar in the middle.
