UP Board Class 10 and 12 Exams Kick Off Today with Over 55 Lakh Candidates


Prayagraj: Asia's largest educational board, UP Board of Secondary Education (UP Board) is all set to begin the Class 10 and 12 board exams from February 22 in two shifts.
More than 55 lakh candidates have registered to appear in these examinations. Hindi subject exam for both class 10 and 12 will be conducted on the first day of the board exam and admit cards have been distributed to the candidates.
According to board secretary Divyakant Shukla, more than 3 lakh invigilators have been deployed for the exam, and each of them has been given ID cards with QR codes. Answer sheets have also been brought under the ambit of QR code. STF, local intelligence department and police have also become active to stop cheating in the examination. A three-tier team has been formed to open question paper packets at the examination centres. This includes Center Administrator, External Center Administrator and Static Magistrate.
Apart from this, Quick Reaction Team (QRT) has been formed to monitor social media, which will be active 24X7. The command room created in all the regional offices including the board headquarters has also become active to monitor the examination centers and strong rooms. All the district school inspectors of the state have been instructed to inspect the examination centers even at night.
Shukla held an online meeting with all the district school inspectors of the state on Wednesday and gave instructions regarding the examination.
On the first day (Thursday) in the first shift, the examination of High School Hindi and Elementary Hindi will be held at 8273 centres. Military Science exam for Intermediate exam will be conducted at 244 centres. There are 29,38,663 candidates registered in high school and 5,123 candidates in intermediate.
In the second shift, Class 12 Hindi and General Hindi examination will be held at 8,232 centres. Commerce examinations for class 10th will be held at 1619 centres. There are 24,29,278 candidates registered in Intermediate and 38,437 candidates in High School.
'The board has made a new system for opening the question paper packet. Under this, joint accountability has been fixed for the center administrator along with the external center administrator and the static magistrate. In case of wrongful inauguration, action will be taken against all three,” Shukla said.
The Board Secretary said that 1297 sector magistrates, 430 zonal magistrates, 75 state level observers and 416 mobile squads have been formed to stop cheating across the state. He said that as per the intention of the government, complete preparations have been made to make the examination free from cheating.
