Do you dream of flying first class to London and meeting a man who is good looking, rich and loves children? Will you tell little white lies to ensure entry into the dreamboat's life? advancedAmazon's latest rom-com, “Fake It Till You Make It” is an ode to the joys and rewards of following school principles.

Ana (Camila Mendes) has a double degree in art history. She makes her living selling paintings of boats to wealthy retirees in Florida in order to come to New York City. She lives in her sister's rent-controlled apartment, sleeping on a futon (not a sofa, mind you), while trying to educate her brother-in-law about the finer points of art when he wants a puppy.

Anna has landed an art internship at this posh auction house, which she hopes will earn her enough social capital to set up her own gallery. Her boss, Claire (Marisa Tomei), is a fearsome ice queen in the best Miranda Priestly tradition. After catching a terrible mistake in the catalogue, Anna gets the chance to accompany Claire on a business trip to London as third assistant.

Story: An art intern meets a dreamboat on a trip to London, tells a little lie and has to keep lying to keep her fantasy alive

Assistants 1 and 2 – Suzette (Rachel Matthews) and Renee (Fola Evans-Akingbola) – are naturally vicious and mean. The ticket agent feels sorry for Ana and upgrades her to first class – I'd love to meet such a generous soul, especially on a 17-hour flight to Sao Paulo.

It's meet-and-greet time, as Anna spills her Bloody Mary on William (Archie Renoux), and the two sit next to each other, chatting easily. Anna assures him that she is the director of the auction house and not some lowly servant.

Anna rises into London's high society thanks to William's mother, Catherine (Lena Olin), an actress. There is another auction, multi-million dollar sales, rivalry, tickets are difficult to get a Midsummer Night's Dream (Did Katherine mean Branagh when she said she'd ask Kane?), lunch reservations, as well as William coaching at-risk kids.

Big revelations and misunderstandings are easily resolved, thankfully without a run to the airport. And six months later, all is well with everyone's dreams coming true, including Anna's brother-in-law getting a beautiful Great Dane.

Mendes follows her Veronica Lodge Riverdale With a passionate performance and Tomei is as watchable as ever. Julian Marks (Anthony Head) is great fun as an absinthe-addled dead artist. advanced It is the definition of a safe fantasy where everything is in its place and follows its designated path. If that's all you're looking for from your movie fix, advanced Will reach the sweet spot with ease.

Upgraded is currently streaming on Prime Video
