UPSC 2024 exam calendar was released on May 10, 2023. CSE 2024 notification will be released on February 14, 2024, and the registration process is expected to start from the same day. As per the schedule, the last date for registration is March 05, 2024 and the preliminary exam will be conducted on May 26, 2024. Civil Services Mains 2024 will be held on October 19, 2024.
Based on past trends, candidates can review the expected eligibility criteria, exam structure and other important information regarding UPSC CSE. However, candidates are advised to read the official notification for UPSC CSE 2024 carefully before applying.
To be eligible the candidate must be at least 21 years of age, but not more than 32 years of age.

Candidate must have a Bachelor's degree from a University recognized by the Central or State Government in India, or from educational institutions authorized by Parliament, or from institutions designated as Universities under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, or equivalent. Must have qualification. ,
Number Of Attempts
Eligible candidates may take the Civil Services Examination up to six (6) times. However, candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC and PWBD categories who are otherwise eligible will get relaxation in the number of attempts.
The Civil Services Examination will consist of two consecutive stages as explained in Appendix I Section-I:
(I) Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination: This stage will be objective type and is designed to select candidates for the main examination.
(ii) Civil Services (Main) Examination: This stage includes both written and interview components and aims to select candidates for the diverse services and posts mentioned earlier.
Note: Candidates who have qualified the Civil Services (Main) Examination will have to choose for which services they wish to be considered from the options available for that year's examination. They have to do this while filling the Detailed Application Form online, before the commencement of the Personality Test (Interview) of the examination.
Candidates need to know that if they answer a question wrongly in the multiple choice section, they will lose marks.
Based on previous years' pattern, candidates (except women, SC, ST and candidates with benchmark disability, who are not required to pay a fee) will have to pay a fee of Rs. 100/-.
