CHENNAI: US semiconductor major Qualcomm is in discussions with Adani Group in the 5G, broadband and semiconductor sectors.
Chairman and CEO of Qualcomm cristiano amon told reporters in Chennai on Thursday that he was excited by the digital transformation taking place in India. “We are working in partnership with companies like Jio and Airtel in opportunities in 5G and broadband in the telecom sector. We are working with Tata and Mahindra in the automotive sector. As we continue to expand in the industrial sector , You will see that it is natural that we will also find opportunities with the Adani Group. Responding to a question on whether major announcements were expected in the recent discussions with Adani Group, he said, “We are not making any announcements, but we are very excited about the partnership and discussions.”
Amon said Qualcomm has invested more than $1 billion in India. “Outside our headquarters in San Diego in the US, India is the largest R&D site. The investment that is happening in India is over $1 billion. This is a significant investment that we have made,” he said.
