Vidya Balan recently shed light on her past relationships, marriage and her early experiences in the industry during her appearance at the inaugural session of The Indian Express's Expresso. He also shed light on the challenges he faced, especially what successful films look like Ishqiya, dirty Picture, and others caused reluctance among male actors when it came to sharing screen space with them. Reflecting on this, Vidya said, “Back in the day? (rolling eyes) I don't think it would be right for her to act in a Vidya Balan film or a female-oriented film even today. Honestly, it is their loss because we are doing better films than them. I really believe in that. They are doing more formula-based films, female-led films are much more exciting.

Vidya Balan further said, “Of course, people are appreciating, but male stars are uncomfortable with women being placed at the centre. I don't think anyone would mind him stealing the thunder. But I never felt bad. I was like, if they are threatened, what can I do? (laughing)”

Addressing questions about facing bias in the film industry, Vidya Balan said, “No nepotism or nepotism, I am here. Nobody's father's industry, not every father's son, Every father's daughter would have been successful” (The film industry does not belong to anyone's father, otherwise all the star kids would have been successful)”

Vidya Balan also talked about the “witch hunt” she faced at the beginning of her career. “I was going through heartbreak for three years. That feeling of rejection was so strong and it was devastating. I was heartbroken and my will to continue on this path was shaken. But I must say that my stomach The fire overpowered everything else,” she shared.
