Chennai Super Kings (CSK) icon MS Dhoni looked back on the years with an entertaining cameo during the team's IPL 2024 match against Delhi Capitals (DC) in Vizag on Sunday. Dhoni, batting for the first time this season, scored an unbeaten 37 off 16 balls at a pace of over 231, however, in a losing cause. The former CSK captain dismissed Anrich Nortje for 20 runs in the final over, but his team fell several runs short of DC's total. Dhoni did not bat in the first two matches of CSK, but in the third game he gave his fans a reason to rejoice.

Dhoni hit Mukesh Kumar for a four on the very first ball. He managed to hit another four in the same over, causing the crowd in Visakhapatnam to cheer.

Dhoni then hit a six off Khalil Ahmed in the next over, before ending the game with two fours and as many sixes in the final over.

Talking about the game, DC defeated CSK by 20 runs to register their first win in IPL 2024, while also handing the defending champions their first defeat in the ongoing campaign.

Chasing the target of 192, CSK were troubled by fast bowlers Khaleel Ahmed (2/21) and Mukesh Kumar (3/21) and were restricted to 171 for six.

Ajinkya Rahane (45, 30b), Daryl Mitchell (34, 26b) and MS Dhoni (37 not out, 16b) tried their best but the DC bowlers were on the money on this night.

Earlier, thanks to the strong half-centuries of captain Rishabh Pant and experienced opener David Warner, Delhi Capitals scored 191 runs for five wickets.

Pant (51, 32 balls) and Warner (52, 35 balls) got good support from opener Prithvi Shaw (43, 27 balls).
