China's Xiaomi is advising potential buyers of its SU7 electric sedan that they may have to wait four to seven months for its first vehicle in a sign of strong demand.

The smartphone and other consumer electronics maker began taking orders on Thursday and said pre-orders reached 88,898 in the first 24 hours.
